Bribie Island Bridge

Bribie island is the only island in Queensland to be connected to the mainland by bridge. The bridge is said to be 831 metres long and was built in 1963.

Bribie island is a 34km long sand island and 8km at its widest. And is home to more than 17,000+ residents.

National Park

About 55 square kilometres of Bribie Island is uninhabited National Park, covering nearly one-third of the island.

Native Birds

Over 300 species of birds visit the Island each year.

The Name "Bribie"

The name Bribie Island is thought to have come from an Aboriginal expression “Boorabee” which refers to a koala or the island itself.
